New Generation Caravan Mover

Truma in Germany had enjoyed considerable success producing caravan movers in the growing leisure market, but they needed a new generation of mover to maintain their leading position. The new mover not only had to look good, be lighter and easier to assemble - it had to be in production within six months.

As the motor and gearbox were core components, and we would be making thousands of these every year, we appointed a project engineer to design a bespoke product. Working to a brief, he created a radical new unit and stress analysed several virtual 3D models before building the first prototypes. This helped to accelerate the development process and minimise the associated costs. The prototypes underwent rigorous testing on caravans before volume production started on schedule.

The new generation mover has exceeded Truma's expectations, and the modern aesthetics, low weight and smooth operation have been a huge hit with customers. As a result sales have increased.
